Cazadero - June 2011
As I look out of the windows in my cozy cyber-hut, I once again see a clear blue sunny sky! We did have over 3” of rain this past week and we are now all ready for sun and warmth!
The lovely Sky Garden, Cazadero’s community garden looks great and the nearby Saturday Market is terrific! Thanks to garden organizer Cathy Schezer and helpers!
The recent Waffle breakfast, organized superbly by the Cazadero Community Club, was a big success! Tasty waffles were served with strawberries and whipped cream, made by dedicated folks who arose very early on a Sunday morning to serve over 150 plates! This 1st-time event benefited the Cazadero Firefighters Association. There was a lot of good information, demonstrations and drawings of the new Fire Station on Austin Creek Road. The next meeting of the Caz Club will be on Tuesday, June 7th at 7 p.m. at the Firehall. Join your neighbors to plan special events, such as the Semi-Annual BBQ at the Music Camp on September 4th (Sunday of Labor day weekend) which benefit the entire community. Summer Bingo will begin soon-look for the announcement on the sign outside of the Firehall. I am happy to announce that four $1000. scholarships were awarded to recent El Molino graduates from Cazadero. Congratulations to these worthy recipients; Kali Horn, Rhiannon Loundagin, Gloria Lee and Bryan Romero. Part of the funds are from the Community Club and the rest from the Cazadero Firefighters Association. The Montgomery Elementary School will have graduation on Wednesday, June 8th at 7 p.m. The final day of school is June 9th.My best wishes and thanks to all who keep the MES rolling along!
With the return of warmer weather comes many chores that we all need to do. Cazadero Supply offers a 15% discount each 1st Saturday to help you with gardening, automobile and building supplies. The Cazadero General Store continues to have many daily grocery needs and special items. The popular Wednesdays at the Waterfall series at CazSonoma Inn continues this summer with the first one scheduled for June 8th. These evenings combine fine dining and wines, music, an informative lecture and art work, all to benefit the Cazadero Performing Arts Camp. Please call 632 5255 for information.
