Alexander Valley Vineyards Recipe Contest
Alexander Valley Vineyards
Announces CYRUS Recipe
Contest
Are you a foodie with a talent for creating recipes with
perfect wine pairings? If so, read on.
Alexander Valley Vineyards is conducting a recipe contest to discover the best pairing for their premium
red wine - CYRUS. Both amateur and professional chefs are invited
to submit original, unpublished recipes featuring the limited production,
proprietary red wine.
Cyrus Alexander was a 19th century adventurer, California
rancher, gold miner, community leader and the namesake of Northern Sonoma's
Alexander Valley. Since 1995 he has also been the namesake of Alexander
Valley Vineyards seamless cabernet based blend - CYRUS. Known as
"The First Growth of Sonoma", CYRUS is a celebration of AVV's estate
grown grapes and the renowned Alexander Valley. Over the years, the wine
has won numerous accolades, highlighted by the March 2011 Houston Livestock
Show and Rodeo Wine Auction where a bottle sold for $210,000.
Submit your original unpublished recipe featuring CYRUS in
Word format via e-mail to avv@avvwine.com
by January 31, 2012. AVV Family Partners Harry Wetzel and Katie Wetzel
Murphy will judge the submissions, test the recipes and select the winners.
First place will receive two tickets to the annual CYRUS
dinner held at AVV in March and the recipe will be published in the AVV March
Wine Club shipment and on the AVV website.
Second place will receive two tickets to Alexander Valley
Vineyards Spring Bash and the recipe will be published on the AVV website.
Third place winner will receive a bottle of 2008 CYRUS and
the recipe published on the AVV website.
Winning recipes may be used in other AVV promotions,
marketing and point of sale materials.
Visit http://www.avvwine.com for additional information or send an e-mail to: avv@avvwine.com for complete contest
rules. Offer void where prohibited by law.
