Don’t miss out on this fun-filled weekend, beginning at 10 o’clock Saturday morning, June 4th with the Parade through downtown and ending at the park where rides, food, arts and crafts, friends and music will come together for two days of fun for the whole family.

A giant thank you to all of the community volunteers that make this event a success. From money counters to bean scoopers and everyone in between, this is the best of our little town, and it would not be possible without you all! A special thanks to Patti for coordinating the BBQ and Leslie for coordinating the Parade!
The annual Bar-B-Que, now in it’s 51st year, helps fund the operation of the Youth Park that is a true treasure to our community. And speaking of supporting our park, a giant thanks to Raynetta James for organizing the wonderful Fashion Show and luncheon held a few weeks ago at Case Ranch Inn. The weather was warm, the wine and food was delicious, and the fashions were spectacular. I haven’t seen so many adorable children in one place in a long time! I even won a beautiful gift basket from the raffle, filled with great gift certificates from local merchants, a lovely hand-crafted scarf from Color Muse, and a couple of bottles of wine that I plan to share with some good friends this Memorial Day weekend. It was a wonderful event. All proceeds went towards the funding of a toddler section at the Park.
Student Snippets:
The school year has ended with two beautiful graduations and plans already in motion for a fantastic 2011-2012 school year. Thank you to everyone who works so hard to help our schools run smoothly and safely for our children. Have a great summer!
Linda Strauss, the coordinator of the After School program at Forestville, would like to thank all of the community members that came by to support the school during its Bake and Garden Sale in May. They raised over $400 to help keep the program alive for next year!
I would also like to thank everyone who came to say good-bye to our wonderful teachers and staff that are retiring from Forestville this year. It meant a lot to everyone to have the opportunity to wish these dedicated individuals well and to let them know how much they have meant to us over the years. They will be missed.
Chamber News:
The next Chamber Mixer is scheduled for July 21st from 5 until 7 at the Forestville United Methodist Church. Everyone is also invited to
stay a bit longer for the Fellowship Committee's Travel Night:
"A-maize-ing Night in South America". Neil Yeager will share about his experiences on a trip to Ecuador and Peru. A Peruvian dessert will be served. For more info, contact Mike Mortensson, Fellowship Chair at 707-887-2759
Hollydale Happenings:
Don’t miss the Hollydale Club’s Western BBQ Burger Hoedown. Come kick up your heels on June 25th, starting at 6 pm!
Lastly, I would like to encourage all of you to remember your local merchants as you go about your busy summer schedules. Many of them rely on the students and families to keep their businesses afloat, and the long summer days without them can take quite a toll on their bottom lines! So grab an iced coffee or a bottle of soda, pick up some sunscreen at the pharmacy, and avoid heating up your kitchen every now and again and let one of our great eating establishments feed your family. Everyone will be thankful that you did!
