Cazadero Communications: Dads, Grads, and Newlyweds!

The rewarding sight of sunlight after several rather chilly and wet days streams through the large redwoods outside of my cosy cyber-hut. We of course welcome the extra rain, which makes us 'normal' this year! There will be a bumper crop of weeds and other fuels, so do rid your property of these whenever possible!

As we enter the time of Dads, grads and newly-weds, remember that Raymond's Bakery can supply you with delicious goodies! Their current hours are Fridays until 9 p.m. for Pizza Night, Saturday and Sundays from 8-3. CazSonoma Inn offers up several more Wednesday at the Waterfall benefits for the Cazadero Performing Arts Camp-next dates are June 2nd and July 14th. Rich Mitchell tells me that the Wine Tasting event will happen on Saturday, July 17th. Please check their website at www.cazsonoma.com for further info or call 632-5255.

Cazadero Supply continues to have their 15% discount day each 1st Saturday-you will find lots of items that you need! The Cazadero General Store has an excellent selection of everyday grocery items, plus body-care and snacks, too!

The Cazadero Community Club sponsored a recent spaghetti dinner fund-raiser for the Montgomery Elementary School, which will be used for field trips. The April Appreciation dinner with the Cazadero VFD was well-attended, with funds donated by the Club for several items requested by Chief Steve Krausmann. The Sky Garden is planted and growing and there will be a Farmer's Market on-site beginning in July. The next meeting of the Club will be at the Caz Firehall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15th, as the usual date is the same as the California Primary. Come and help your neighbors plan events which benefit the entire community!

The MES 2010 Graduation will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2nd. I congratulate the following graduates and wish them the best in their future endeavors: Olivia Gevas, Christine Gluch, Christopher Imrie, Kaitlyn Manzo, Victoria Pereira, Michael Solano and Raven Stires. The last day of school is June 3rd and the annual school picnic will be on Friday, June 4th at Camp Caz from 10-2 p.m. Thanks to all of the staff and students for a successful year!

A very Happy belated Birthday to Homer Canelis, who celebrated on May 30th. Jesse Abend will be 27 on June 5th, Tess Bryant will turn 24 on June 6th, Aisha Raleigh will be 15 on the 8th, Mason Gilligan turns 23 on the 11th, Alexandra Hills turns 26 on June 18th and Max Duda will be 25 on June 23rd. My dear husband Gregorio and I will celebrate our 40th wedding Anniversary on June 21st!

Enjoy Spring and call me at 632 5545 or email mayawrld@sonic.net with info for your Cazadero column!
