At the Table - October 2011
The beloved Triple
R Resort is
baaaack! Renamed R3 Hotel. Ray Allen, owner from 1992-2005 and
General Manager Jeff Bridges couldn’t stay away and we are glad they have
returned to breathe life into this tropical oasis.
The restaurant will be reopening and named Triple R Bar and Grill. Chef Patrick Helton will be serving
American comfort food and baking all his breads, muffins and hash in house. He
will be cooking up his favorite specialties such as crab benedict and chicken
stuffed crepes.
The restaurant will feature an extensive wine list
with 98% of wines from Sonoma and Napa counties. For those of you who remember
going way back, Molly Brown’s fried chicken will be on the menu. Hours of
operation 5pm-10pm Thursday through Sunday. Sunday brunch will be served from
10am - 3pm.
The Piano bar is returning and a special appearance
will be made by Momi Starr from Hawaii in mid to late October. Hooray!
The newly refreshed resort features 23 handsome rooms
with a variety of single rooms starting as low as $55.00 per night off season
and king suites ranging from $150-$165.00.
Wonderful changes are happening in the bar area as
well. A new state of the art sound system is being installed with a video bar,
and monitors and will feature “Buzz time” for those of you in the know. For you
sport aficionados, this will be a terrific spot to watch baseball and football
games.
The resort plans to open around the second week of
October. Wine and beer will be plentiful on weekdays with some liquor served on
weekends permitting until the full liquor license is issued.
A little birdie told me that the Celebrity Pie throwing contest started in 1994 will be returning to
the R3.
All good news.....See you there!
