AT THE TABLE: Cottages on River Road, Guerneville

Cottages on River Road
14880 River Rd, Guerneville • 707/869-3838 • www.cottagesonriverroad.com

Ted Kearns, the proprietor purchased this beautiful property in October of 2010. This property has undergone a complete metamorphosis since being newly acquired and lovingly restored.
The resort features 16 cabins in all. The cabins feature wood floors, modern furnishings, state of the art flat screen tvs, small kitchenettes and comfortable beds. Not your typical old river resort...this place is fresh, clean and hip. All units have small decks facing the gorgeous lawn and abundantly lush courtyard area with fountains.

Resort guests can enjoy the walkways being lit with candlelight in the evenings. On our stay we met guests from Alaska, New England and Texas to name a few as we sat around the fire pit roasting S’mores and sipping wine. The property is entirely fenced in if you have your doggies travel with you and there is plenty of parking.  If you like to swim, the newly redone pool is a salt water pool fully equipped with a handicap chair and will be heated come next summer. If you fancy yourself a massage the resort features several spa treatments in their Massage Room. Try the Swedish, deep tissue, detoxifying lymphatic drainage or the hot stone and reflexology massages.

Continental breakfasts in the mornings featuring fruit, pastries, bagels, yogurts, juices and hot beverages. You can also order room service in from a local high-end market in town that partners with the resort which delivers scrumptious and generous breakfasts straight to your door at a very affordable price.

The resort features 9 studio cabins and 7 two-bedroom cabins ranging from $79.00-$249.00. Couples and family friendly. The resort is handicap accessible and does feature a handicap friendly cabin. Board games, VHS, Dvds and Wifi available for all guests. The staff is accommodating and very friendly.

Call and inquire about the Wine tasting events and the “Wine and Key’s” parties on busy weekends. A wonderful resort to rejuvenate the spirit and enjoy the river area. A great find.
